Vision Australia Partners with Sitefinity Platinum Partner Websilk and Creates a New Benchmark for Web Accessibility

Vision Australia, Australia’s leading not‑for‑profit provider of blindness and low‑vision services serving 50,000+ clients, needed a modern web presence that combined engaging design with strict WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility, supported three distinct sites (corporate, seeing‑eye dogs, radio), and solved complex requirements around permissions‑based content editing, ecommerce/donations and integration with POS and inventory systems.

Websilk selected Progress Sitefinity and built a custom solution—including 200+ Sitefinity controls, fine‑grained content segmentation, a responsive design, a redesigned donations journey, and a custom payment gateway integrated with ecommerce and back‑office systems. Launched in November 2012, the platform enabled 50+ contributors to manage content, eliminated much manual data entry, improved shopping/search and order fulfilment, increased sales and customer satisfaction, and helped Vision Australia triple online donations for its “Carols by Candlelight” campaign.
