Nova Scotia Power, the province’s electric utility, faced a major test when Hurricane Dorian left more than 400,000 customers without power. The outage showed that, while the site handled traffic, the utility’s legacy CMS limited its ability to deliver reliable, responsive and customer-centric digital experiences and real‑time outage information during emergencies.
Partnering with SilverTech, NSP chose Progress Sitefinity to modernize content management, integrate critical data and systems (including a MyAccount portal) and deliver personalized, real‑time features like the “Today’s Power” display. Since launch the site has become the single source of truth and driven strong engagement gains: +42% new users, +12% organic traffic, −52% bounce rate and +91% MyAccount page views.
