A Progress Sitefinity Case Study
The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), the national society for more than 10,000 physiatrists, faced a fragmented website experience and slow content workflows. Their legacy SharePoint setup was costly after a Microsoft nonprofit reclassification, limited editing to four stakeholders, and forced members to log in multiple times, straining the small IT and marketing teams responsible for keeping content current for diverse audiences.
AAPM&R replaced SharePoint with Progress Sitefinity, implemented by Vanguard Technology in an eight‑month project, adding single sign‑on, content hierarchy/taxonomy, responsive UI and broader stakeholder editing. The new platform let more than 20 stakeholders update content directly, cut edit turnaround from days to about an hour, and boosted engagement—core member traffic per session +31% (19% per user), page views +25%, and 52% of members logged in over six months—while enabling plans for further personalization.
