Aquarion Creates a Frictionless Customer Experience by Consolidating 65% of Regional Web Content

Aquarion Water Company, the public water utility serving parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, needed to modernize an aging, Visual Basic–based website that lacked mobile support and required IT involvement for routine content updates. Customers expected a reliable, easy-to-navigate site for tasks like checking service alerts and paying bills, but the existing experience had become fragmented and technically obsolete.

Working with agency Chateaux, Aquarion implemented Progress Sitefinity—bringing an intuitive CMS with drag-and-drop page building, custom widgets, workflows and role-based permissions—to give nontechnical teams autonomy and reduce bottlenecks. The redesign consolidated about 65% of duplicated regional content, created a simpler customer journey, improved findability, and cleared internal backlogs so a small communications team could more quickly deliver reliable, frictionless digital experiences.
