Kwik-Fit Keeps Its Network Wheels Turning With Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold

Kwik-Fit, Europe’s leading fast-fit automotive service provider with over 600 UK branches and roughly 1,800 service points serving about 7.5 million motorists a year, struggled to manage and troubleshoot a dispersed network of more than 700 remote sites. IT teams were spending excessive time manually trawling router configs and device logs and needed reliable up/down monitoring and bandwidth visibility for critical offices.

Kwik-Fit implemented Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold with SNMP/WMI monitoring and the Network Traffic Analysis plug-in to track site availability, bandwidth, mail queues, VPN users and device environmental data, with alerting and historical reports. The deployment enabled proactive fault detection, faster resolution (including pinpointing ISP outages), reduced time spent troubleshooting so IT can focus on projects, and plans to expand monitoring and SMS alerting.
