Health Insurance Provider Leverages MOVEit to Improve Its Managed File Transfer Solution

A family-run provider of supplemental health insurance and financial services needed a secure, auditable managed file transfer solution to handle diverse workflows—ad-hoc person-to-person sends, folder sharing, one-to-many distributions, secure collections, and scheduled system-to-system batches—while protecting PII and meeting HIPAA and Model Audit Rule requirements. Their previous Axway solution proved difficult and costly to maintain, requiring extensive Perl scripting and add-on modules, and still fell short on compliance, reporting and usability.

The company replaced Axway with MOVEit after a successful evaluation and demo; MOVEit met requirements out-of-the-box, simplified complex transfers, reduced custom coding and administration costs, and allowed an entry-level employee to manage the system. The move delivered predictable delivery and comprehensive reporting for audits, automated backend transfers with improved security and compliance, and is being extended to field staff via MOVEit Mobile for secure file handling on 700 iPads.
