Creating a Scalable Standard for Network Management with WhatsUp Gold

GENCO, a global Top-50 third-party logistics provider founded in 1898, needed a standardized, scalable network-management platform to support its 80+ locations and growing, acquisition-driven footprint. Existing tools varied by site, were reactive rather than proactive, and enterprise alternatives were too costly and resource-intensive — outsourcing was rejected because GENCO wanted in-house control.

After a successful trial of Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold from an acquired division, GENCO began a phased roll-out to all sites using a distributed model with one part-time implementer per location. The easy-to-use solution now provides corporate-wide consistency and proactive monitoring of 150+ devices, improves uptime and bandwidth for EDI-dependent customers, and reduces staffing and support costs with positive feedback from the field.
