Cable & Wireless Panamá, a nationwide telecommunications provider and subsidiary of Cable & Wireless Communications, needed a preventative, easy-to-deploy monitoring solution to add value for corporate clients and avoid only learning about connectivity problems after failures occurred. The company wanted a user‑friendly tool to monitor the “health” of customer premises equipment (CPE) and reduce time and cost to resolve anomalies.
They implemented Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold Network & Server Monitoring – MSP Edition, piloting it in two weeks and forming a 10‑person monitoring team. WhatsUp Gold now monitors 1,200 CPEs, centralizes configuration management with the WhatsConfigured module, speeds incident notification and support, and has enabled expansion into remote-server monitoring for more clients.
