A Progress Case Study
BankservAfrica is the continent’s leading electronic payment and information switching service, processing more than 2.58 billion financial transactions yearly (valued at over R7 trillion). Facing tight SLAs—sometimes under two hours—and handling extremely sensitive interbank data for major banks, the organization found its earlier non-stop computing and legacy transfer processes unable to scale, automate or securely move large batch files without complex, time-consuming coding.
After a six-month evaluation BankservAfrica moved to a Windows environment and implemented Ipswitch MessageWay’s managed file transfer (MFT) solution, delivering strong encryption, non-repudiation, audit visibility, automation and regulatory compliance (including PCI and PASA). As a result, MessageWay now handles 80% of the company’s ~2.5 billion annual transactions, saving thousands of hours each year, simplifying audits, freeing staff for strategic work and enabling secure, scalable growth.
