Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Finds the Right Track to Modernization

Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway, a transportation company, needed to modernize aging IBM i green-screen applications and replace a highly manual customer order process that increased the risk of errors. The company wanted a better way for customers to place orders and submit feedback, and turned to Profound Logic and its Profound UI product to help web-enable its 5250 applications.

Using Profound UI from Profound Logic, W&LE built a self-service customer web portal that let customers enter orders directly online, reducing the need for employee re-entry and minimizing mistakes from manual input. The development team was able to get up to speed in just days, and the railway is now exploring additional mobile and workflow improvements with Profound Logic to further speed up data capture and improve operations.
