Ryder Last Mile, a transportation and supply chain company, needed a more modern way to support third-party freight carriers as delivery expectations grew. Its legacy low-code, screen-scraping green-screen application had become difficult to use, hard to scale, and no longer intuitive. Ryder turned to Profound Logic and its Node.js development products, including Profound.js, to modernize the experience without losing access to its existing RPG business logic.

Using Profound Logic, Ryder built RyderView, a web-based and mobile-friendly application that exposed IBM i data via APIs, connected to cloud systems in real time, and leveraged open source npm packages to speed development. The new solution delivered real-time visibility, faster onboarding, reduced training costs, and simpler field data capture, while also cutting service-to-invoicing time from 48 hours to 24 hours, saving $30,000 annually, and reducing effort by 10 person-hours per week per site.
