Baker College, an education institution running on IBM i, needed to modernize more than a million lines of legacy RPG code and over 1,300 menu items that were still tied to outdated green-screen 5250 applications. The old interface was hurting user perception of the platform and prompting questions about whether the college should stay on IBM i at all, so Baker College turned to Profound Logic and its Profound UI product.

Profound Logic helped Baker College convert its applications to modern, browser-based RPG interfaces using Profound UI and mass conversion services, while supporting parallel testing and rollout. The result was a well-received new portal that preserved existing code and hardware, trained end users successfully, and gave the college a modern user experience with clickable items and plans for further enhancements and batch processing improvements.
