Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve, a luxurious British hotel and 600‑acre safari reserve that supports the Aspinall Foundation, was losing direct bookings because its underdeveloped booking engine delivered a poor user experience and high dropout rates. To address this challenge they engaged the Profitroom Booking Engine (via reseller Journey) to rebuild their direct‑booking capability and better showcase their varied accommodation offering.
Profitroom implemented a flexible, conversion‑led booking interface that made comparing and booking Forest Hideaways, suites, glamping huts and lodges simple. Four months after go‑live Port Lympne’s dropout rate fell below the UK average, conversion rose to about 13% (12.94%), OTA reliance dropped to just 4%—saving thousands in commission—and the majority of bookings now come directly through the site, driving significant revenue gains for Port Lympne.
