Hotwatt, a Danvers, MA manufacturer of resistance heating elements since 1952, faced fragmented manual processes—time clocks, paper files, slow inventory counts and limited visibility into production costs. To address these issues Hotwatt implemented ProfitKey’s RRM and document management solutions to modernize shop-floor timekeeping, labor capture and document workflows.

ProfitKey’s RRM gave the production floor clock-in/out, ADP integration, and real-time labor entry so sales can quote accurately, while document management delivered instant access to files, electronic backups and eliminated filing cabinets. As a result, Hotwatt dramatically increased inventory accuracy, reduced time to take inventory, sped customer response, removed physical time clocks and can now tell exactly what it costs to produce each part.
