A Profit& Case Study
British Multinational Insurance Company, a British multinational insurer headquartered in London, needed a better way to allocate IT service costs across the business. Its existing Excel-based IT services model relied on manual data transfers and a few key staff, created inconsistent and hard-to-explain charges, and left business units unable to influence the costs they were charged. Profit& was brought in to replace the spreadsheet process, using Anaplan for the IT service cost allocation model.
Profit& re-developed the IT services cost model in Anaplan to deliver transparent, automated cost allocation based on drivers the business could understand. Business users can now input planned service volumes, monitor actual consumption, and adjust demand during the year, while IT can approve changes and instantly calculate re-charges and impacts on costs. The result is accurate, transparent re-charges, real-time cost-to-serve visibility, stronger IT resource planning, and a substantial reduction in queries to the re-charge team, helping the company reduce overall IT costs without affecting service quality.
