IHD Group, a San Jose, Costa Rica general contractor founded in 2007, specializes in commercial construction, hotels and resorts and averages $6.5M in annual revenue with roughly 50 estimates produced each year and an average awarded project value of $5.5M. Facing the need to take on larger, more complex international jobs and move off legacy Sage software, CEO Daniel Chavarria sought a scalable, cloud-based estimating platform and selected ProEst for its online capabilities and integration with the Procore construction management solution.
ProEst was implemented as an end-to-end, cloud estimating solution with a customized database, Procore and ERP integrations, and fast user onboarding (Chavarria became proficient in hours), enabling controlled takeoffs, collaborative workflows and delegated costing while preserving accuracy. By using ProEst, IHD Group gained the technology edge to pursue and win larger projects—including serving as main contractor on the $50M Planet Hollywood Hotel—support remote international work, sustain ~50 estimates annually, and maintain consistent, award-winning bid accuracy.
