The Porter Company is a 60+-year-old mechanical piping contractor in Austin handling large commercial projects across the city and state. They needed a way to standardize workflows and centralize document distribution for nearly 100 people—replacing fragmented servers, email/FTP transfers, and Excel logs that made coordination slow and error-prone.
Porter beta-tested Procore’s cloud-based Document Management tool on a JW Marriott project for 4–6 months, then rolled it out company-wide for projects ranging $2M–$30M. Procore standardized RFIs and submittals, gave field and office staff real-time access to current files, reduced communication time, and simplified onboarding; Porter now has close to 100 users on a flat-rate plan, improving productivity, accountability, and document control.
