SANY America, an $8 billion global heavy equipment manufacturer, faced growing complexity at its Peachtree City excavator plant: mixed-model assembly, rapidly expanding staff, and frequent new models meant the company needed reliable, efficient quality inspections that newer employees could perform, plus fast documentation and detailed reporting to drive corrective actions. To address this, SANY America implemented Proceedix digital work inspections (the Proceedix digital instruction and inspection execution platform) at its North America headquarters.

Using Proceedix (implemented with support from Gemba Systems Inc.), inspectors now access up-to-date digital procedures on iPhones and Google Glass, record hands-free results, and document issues with photos, video, and comments for instant communication. The Proceedix solution made inspections fully paperless, cut inspection time by about 70%, sped training, automated reporting and dashboards, and delivered rapid, significant improvements in Assembly and Paint quality performance.
