Philips Lighting, now Signify, needed a faster and more flexible way to manage preventative maintenance across up to 200 machines at its Turnhout plant in Belgium. The existing PDA-based process was slow, hard to update, lacked historical data, and created extra manual work, so Philips turned to Proceedix and PwC to help move its operations toward Industry 4.0.

Proceedix, working with PwC, co-created a smartphone and tablet app for Philips Lighting’s utility operators to carry out and track maintenance tasks more efficiently. The new solution reduced waste, removed the need to create reports after inspections, and saved operators up to an hour a day, while also laying the groundwork for step-by-step maintenance instructions, tighter supplier access controls, and a more paperless factory.
