Fortnox, a major Swedish provider of a cloud-based accounting and administration platform, faced a challenge managing its rapidly expanding volumes of unstructured customer data. Its previous open-source object storage solution was outgrown, placed a heavy load on its storage area network (SAN), and lacked vendor support. Partnering with vendor Proact, Fortnox sought a future-proof and scalable object storage solution to support its innovative, container-based application development.

Proact designed and implemented a new on-premises object storage solution based on NetApp StorageGrid. This provided Fortnox with a highly available, S3-compatible system that was separate from its SAN, relieving that network's workload. The solution is scalable, manageable, and seamlessly supports Fortnox's Kubernetes-driven development environment. As a result, Fortnox gained a secure, reliable foundation for growth with certified support from Proact, enabling the continued expansion of its private cloud platform.
