John’s Crazy Socks is a father–son retail business founded by John (who has Down syndrome) that sells colorful socks while promoting a social mission. After rapid growth from social media and several viral moments, the company faced the challenge of reliably capturing visitors’ contact information and building a direct channel to customers amid seasonal spikes and inventory/staffing pressure—so they turned to Privy to collect emails and run site promotions.
Using Privy’s pop-up and email-capture tools, John’s Crazy Socks added about 12,000 subscribers through Privy—over a third of their 40,000 email list—with much of that growth coming from a single campaign.
