Thompson Tractor Company Eliminates Print Servers and Empowers End-Users

Thompson Tractor Company, a family-owned Caterpillar dealer with more than 1,500 employees across 27 locations, struggled with a sprawling print environment that relied on nine print servers. Group Policy deployments were failing, employees couldn’t install printers themselves, and IT lacked visibility into printer status and usage, creating frequent help-desk calls and management overhead.

By rolling out PrinterLogic, Thompson Tractor centralized print management, began removing print servers and enabled a self-service portal so users can install printers without IT assistance. The company gained real-time SNMP monitoring and reporting, has already eliminated two servers across five sites, greatly reduced deployment issues and help-desk volume, and expects significant ROI as deployment continues company-wide.
