Simplifying Epic Printing While Growing from 400 to 4,000 Printers

OhioHealth, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving a 40-county area, was rolling out Epic and expanding its printing environment from about 400 to an expected 4,000 printers across 25 locations. The built-in Microsoft utilities and other tools proved ineffective for managing Epic Print Servers (EPSs), forcing IT staff to configure printers on each server individually and leaving the organization without centralized monitoring, auditing or reporting.

OhioHealth deployed PrinterLogic’s web-based printer management solution to provide a single-console view of all print servers and printers, streamline configuration (push once to apply across servers) and capture detailed, exportable print-job metadata for auditing. The result was faster, less costly deployments, dramatically reduced troubleshooting and hundreds of hours saved, enabling the health system to scale its Epic print environment efficiently.
