PrinterLogic helps healthcare provider achieve a 70% decrease in print-related support costs and improve print performance in its distributed Citrix environment

UW Health, the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s integrated health system with roughly 100 facilities, 18,000 users and a fleet of ~3,400 printers, was running a mixed Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop environment supported by about 17 print servers and an MSP. That architecture produced slow printing at remote clinics, fragmented driver management, cumbersome printer installs and limited visibility — challenges made worse by pooled VDI where printers needed to follow users across changing virtual machines.

PrinterLogic replaced the print‑server backbone with direct‑IP printing and a centralized driver repository, enabling local‑network printing, single‑pane driver management, self‑install/floorplan maps and MSP deployments via Active Directory. The rollout eliminated all but one print server, cut print‑related support costs by ~70%, reduced support tickets by 60%, improved problem‑resolution time by 20%, and helped optimize the printer fleet and Citrix printing performance.
