OCCC Eliminates All of Its Print Servers and Empowers End Users to Install Their Own Printers

Oklahoma City Community College, a public two-year institution serving about 19,000 students, managed roughly 350 printers across its main campus and remote sites. Its IT team relied on three print servers that caused ongoing complexity, frequent support calls (10–15 per week), and limited transparency or self-service for end users—especially in a VDI environment.

By deploying PrinterLogic, OCCC eliminated all print servers, enabled printer assignment to floating VDI desktops, and delegated provisioning through AD so users can install printers themselves. The change flattened architecture, cut support tickets to only a couple per week, sped up resolutions, reduced administrative overhead, and gave end users clearer, automated printing options.
