A PrinterLogic Case Study

How PrinterLogic eliminated 140 print servers, streamlined printer and driver management, and helped cut help-desk costs for more than 20,000 employees

The City of Cape Town, a distributed municipality with 632 sites and more than 20,000 employees, faced widespread print-server failures and a fragmented print environment after centralising infrastructure. Ageing hardware, expiring warranties and a lean IT team forced frequent on-site support, left some sites unable to print for days, and diverted staff from strategic projects.

The city deployed PrinterLogic to consolidate and modernise printing: 140 print servers were migrated to a single print-management platform with a central driver repository and direct-IP printing. The rollout completed in about two weeks, eliminating obsolete hardware, cutting help-desk calls and technician call-outs, speeding printer deployment and login times, removing single points of failure, and delivering immediate ROI through lower support and maintenance costs.
