Eliminating Print Servers and Increasing Uptime with “Instant ROI”

CFCU Community Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution serving Tompkins and Cortland counties in New York with 10 locations, over 60,000 members and about $900M in assets. As the organization grew it amassed a complex print environment—150 printers across three domains and four print servers (two Citrix, two local)—which caused frequent spooler failures, high help-desk volume and inconsistent driver management, creating a critical need to eliminate print servers, simplify printing and deploy a solution enterprise-wide with no user impact.

CFCU selected PrinterLogic (deployed via LANDESK) to manage all printers from a single console, enable self-service printer installation and automate driver distribution; this removed dependence on print servers, eliminated server-related downtime, reduced help-desk calls by roughly 50%, and allowed a zero-impact, three-day enterprise rollout. The result was immediate ROI through reduced support costs and avoided print server upgrades, with a more reliable, easier-to-manage printing environment.
