AAA Carolinas Optimizes Print Management and Gains Insight with PrinterLogic

AAA Carolinas, which serves two million members from about 60 locations and 2,000 employees, was hampered by aging 2003 print servers and a mismatched fleet of printers that couldn’t meet security, flexibility or cost goals—especially ahead of a PCI compliance initiative. With a four-person helpdesk fielding frequent print-related calls, the organization wanted to radically shrink its print infrastructure and move to a managed print model.

They implemented a Ricoh managed-print arrangement with PrinterLogic, eliminating all print servers and centralizing print management while enabling direct IP printing. PrinterLogic’s reporting and policy controls reduced color waste and enforced economical defaults, its self-service installer simplified deployments, and the changes cut print-related helpdesk calls by roughly 50 per week, freed data-center capacity and lowered overall printing costs.
