PLUS Retail rolls out Pricer ESLs across 265 stores in 2020-2021

PLUS Retail, a Dutch supermarket cooperative with approximately 265 stores, needed to automate in-store processes to better control operations and remain competitive. An independent store owner highlighted the challenges of managing paper price tags and dealing with pricing errors at checkout. The vendor, Pricer, provided its electronic shelf label (ESL) platform to address these challenges.

Pricer implemented its SmartTAG Power ESLs and the Pricer Plaza SaaS solution across all stores, including full implementation services. The highly reliable platform enabled digital processes like dynamic pricing and Click & Collect. A key result was the store's ability to handle a surge in e-commerce; weekly Click & Collect orders grew from 80 to over 350. Pricer's solution provided a direct business advantage by saving staff time and improving the customer experience with real-time product information.
