Case Study: Norse Ship Management improves operations with Prevu3D’s Maritime Digital Twin

A Prevu3D Case Study

Norse Ship Management reduces site visits and speeds retrofit planning with Prevu3D

Norse Ship Management faced the challenge of managing its fleet with outdated, fragmented data such as 2D drawings and PDFs, which created a heavy reliance on physical site visits and slowed down coordination and decision-making. This lack of a standardized digital system, akin to BIM for land-based assets, created inefficiencies and mounting pressure to improve safety and sustainability. To address this, Norse partnered with Prevu3D and its partner Ataris to implement the Mari-Twin solution, powered by Prevu3D's RealityPlatform™.

The solution involved creating a high-resolution, browser-based maritime digital twin of the vessel MV Chattanooga, providing an interactive workspace for remote exploration, measurement, and planning. This implementation by Prevu3D delivered significant results, including enhanced crew familiarization and safety, faster maintenance planning, and reduced need for travel, which lowered costs and carbon emissions. The digital twin provided a foundation for improved collaboration and stronger compliance, positioning Norse as a leader in maritime digitalization.
