A Presta Case Study
The customer, UCP Hub, faced the challenge of making online stores not built on Shopify visible to AI agents. While Shopify had natively implemented the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), other platforms like WooCommerce and Magento were invisible to the agent layer, preventing them from being read or transacted with by AI. The vendor, Presta, was tasked with building the architecture to solve this.
Presta's solution was to build UCP Hub, an architecture featuring a pluggable adapter layer, a normalization core, and a signing pipeline that allows any commerce stack to comply with the UCP spec. This made non-Shopify merchants indistinguishable from native ones to AI agents. Following its public beta launch in March 2026, UCP Hub successfully connected many storefronts across various platforms. Within the first eight weeks, the four largest agent platforms began treating these merchants as native UCP publishers, and an early access merchant reported receiving agent revenue just days after installation.
