Hemlock Printers, a large commercial printer in Burnaby, British Columbia, needed a more efficient workflow to connect customer storefronts with its internal production systems. After a client requested a way to integrate external storefronts, Hemlock turned to PressWise to provide a faster API-driven solution for handling storefront orders, product and pricing data, and batching for digital printing.

Using PressWise, Hemlock implemented a bidirectional workflow with XML and SOAP messaging to link storefronts to production, manage job batching and imposition, and route files into its litho workflow through Prinergy. The system also handles shipping using order data captured at checkout. As a result, about 10% of Hemlock’s volume now comes through storefronts, supporting 15 clients and around 100 PressWise users, while also helping the company win new business and grow steadily.
