Wimbledon 2014 faced the challenge of capturing fan attention during the FIFA World Cup and delivering a digital experience that matched the excitement of being at the tournament. Working with Presidion, it needed better insight into matches and a way to keep millions of fans engaged across web, mobile, social, and on-site channels, using products and services such as analytics, cloud, mobile, and social technologies.
Presidion implemented a real-time digital solution built around shot-by-shot analytics, enhanced SlamTracker-style live scoring, and a Social Command Centre to track trending topics and tailor content. The result was a more immersive fan experience, with a 17% increase in visits, a 9% increase in page views, and fans spending more than ten minutes per visit on average, while prediction accuracy improved by 6 percentage points and one match key indicator predicted winners 70% of the time.
