To do this, Santam worked with **Presidion** on a claims segmentation solution using IBM SPSS predictive analytics / decision management to assess each claim’s risk and route it to the right processing channel.
**Presidion** helped Santam implement an automated scoring and business-rules solution that prioritized low-risk claims for immediate settlement and flagged suspicious cases for investigation. The results were significant: legitimate claims could be settled within an hour instead of three days, fraud detection helped foil a major syndicate, and Santam saved **R17 million** in fraudulent claims and **R32 million** in total repudiations within four months.
