Preset Cloud, a managed cloud service for Apache Superset, faced the challenge of its users being limited by outdated and awkward time-series visualizations. The platform relied on a single, unified time-series chart that required users to navigate to a customization tab to switch between different chart types, creating a poor user experience that deviated from the rest of Superset's design. Preset, the vendor behind Preset Cloud, needed to modernize its offering with a more powerful and intuitive charting library.

Preset implemented a solution by fully migrating to Apache ECharts, integrating seven distinct and powerful time-series visualization types directly into the chart picker. This included line, bar, area, scatter, smooth line, stepped line, and mixed time-series charts, each tailored for specific analytical use cases. The result was a dramatically improved user experience where analysts could instantly select the right chart for their data, leading to more effective and interpretable time-series analysis for Preset Cloud users.
