Apache Superset adds Elasticsearch support in 3 min with Preset

The customer, Apache Superset, an open-source data visualization platform, required support for connecting to and querying Elasticsearch databases. The vendor, Preset, identified the need for this integration based on feedback from the Superset user community.

Preset implemented the solution by first building and open-sourcing a Python database driver and a SQLAlchemy dialect for Elasticsearch, which they published as the 'elasticsearch-dbapi' PyPI package. This allowed any Python application, including Apache Superset, to connect to Elasticsearch using standard SQL queries. As a result, Superset users gained the ability to directly visualize and analyze their Elasticsearch data, as demonstrated by a sample analysis of flight data. Preset successfully delivered this new integration to the open-source community.
