Royal College of Physicians of Ireland Archives Its Rich Heritage Using Preservica on AWS

Royal College of Physicians of Ireland needed a modern SaaS solution to preserve and provide access to its historical records, which date back to the 1600s. To meet that need, it worked with Preservica to support long-term digital archiving and easier discovery of its rich heritage materials.

Preservica implemented its cloud-based archival platform on AWS, using services such as Amazon S3 for durable storage and Amazon RDS for metadata management. The solution automatically checks that digital content remains accessible and readable over decades, supports more than 2,000 file formats, and provides a customizable discovery portal; as a result, RCPI can share its historical medical records with researchers, doctors, and the public.
