A Preservica Case Study
The Trustees of Reservations, New England’s first land preservation organization with more than 125 years of history and 116 sites across Massachusetts, needed to digitize and provide online access to its extensive archival collections — from original letters and Charles Eliot’s scrapbook to historic photos and site images — so the public and researchers could discover materials for the first time. During planning they realized preservation and access should be handled in a single integrated system rather than as separate projects.
After an RFP process, The Trustees selected Preservica’s Cloud Edition to both preserve and publish their digital collections. The platform future-proofs files, supports standards-based cataloguing and controlled vocabularies, and delivers a searchable public site, enabling broader online access, ongoing stewardship of digital assets, and engagement with new audiences for generations to come.
