BHIC's Digital Archival Evolution with Preservica

Brabants Historisch Informatie Centrum (BHIC), the historical memory of North Brabant, manages more than 1,500 archives and collections and faced growing pressure to preserve a rapidly increasing flow of digital records as new Dutch archival rules shorten transfer times. To meet this challenge, BHIC selected Preservica and its digital repository/e-Depot software to build its own independent long-term preservation environment.

Preservica helped BHIC migrate content and metadata, upgrade rights management, and create separate search portals for public and organizational users using OAI-PMH and APIs. The result was a more efficient ingest workflow, stronger control over access and preservation, and a scalable foundation for protecting BHIC’s 12TB e-Depot and keeping records organized, accessible, and usable for future generations.
