A Presagia Case Study
Scripps Health, a San Diego-based health care system with more than 14,000 employees across 40+ locations, wanted to bring leave management back in-house to improve customer service and better support employees with pay and leave questions. After outsourcing left staff without the answers they needed, Scripps sought a solution that could handle its high volume of complex federal, California, and internal leave cases. Presagia’s absence management software was selected to help meet that need.
With Presagia, Scripps configured its own leave policies into the system, integrated it with HR and payroll, and automated eligibility, entitlement, correspondence, intermittent leave tracking, and reporting. The result was a smaller, more efficient leave team: 3 case managers and a supervisor now manage about 2,000 active cases, compared with 7 employees plus a supervisor in the past, while also cutting letter-writing time from 45 minutes to about 1 minute per letter. Scripps reported fewer complaints, better compliance, and getting employees back to work earlier, and Presagia continues to support their in-house leave management.
