Fordham University Students Won a Competition with the Help of Preqin Data

Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, an academic institution focused on research and portfolio building, faced the challenge of creating a long-term, impact-oriented investment portfolio for the Total Impact Portfolio Challenge. To support their work in academic research, ESG analysis, and alternatives investing, the team used Preqin Pro and Preqin Insights to evaluate private funds and build a competitive portfolio.

Using Preqin’s advanced search, league tables, and historic performance data, the students filtered opportunities by strategy, returns, fees, and drawdowns to assemble a diversified portfolio of 10 private funds. With support from Preqin, Fordham University won first place in the competition, gaining practical experience in alternatives investing and impact portfolio construction.
