How Lyse Succeeded at Virtual Onboarding in a Remote World

Lyse, a Norwegian group operating in energy, telecommunications and the electricity grid with over 1,200 employees, faced fragmented, time-consuming onboarding that left new hires idle and managers overwhelmed — problems amplified by COVID and remote work. Lyse engaged Preppio to deliver a digital onboarding solution embedded in their existing Workplace from Facebook platform, avoiding new apps or logins and enabling a consistent, socialized welcome experience.

Preppio ran a workshop with Lyse, built the digital HR assistant “Martine” (a chatbot in Workplace that also sends SMS) and automated nudges, tasks and communications to new hires, managers and IT. The result: standardized onboarding across business units, major HR time savings, 100% message read rates, top survey scores for the onboarding experience and a payback on the 20 hours spent building Martine within months — all delivered by Preppio.
