Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Health and Sanitation validates over 700 health facilities with Premise

Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Health and Sanitation, supported by a global geospatial solutions NGO, faced a challenge with incomplete and inaccurate records for its health facilities. To support the Ministry's system of record keeping, the NGO partnered with Premise to validate existing facility location data and collect new location information for facilities where it was missing.

Premise deployed its network of Contributors to validate and collect data for over 700 health facilities across the country. The solution successfully identified that nearly 30% of facilities had incorrect names and that approximately 15% of facilities without location data were not in their expected administrative areas. Premise's work provided the Ministry with a validated, owned dataset that can now be used for micro-planning and future service delivery initiatives.
