Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation monitors 1,635 immunizations in 3 months with Premise

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, along with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, sought to improve immunization coverage in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Their challenge was to identify service deficiencies in Kinshasa that were driving immunization deficits, requiring a clear understanding of available resources and potential barriers to access. They used Premise to gather this critical data.

Premise deployed its contributors to complete three data collection tasks: mapping private health facilities, enriching data on vaccine availability and schedules, and monitoring immunization sessions. This solution identified 650 new health facilities and documented services at 782 facilities. Contributors monitored 1,635 immunizations and conducted over 2,500 interviews, uncovering that 70% of caregivers were incorrectly charged for vaccination cards. Equipped with these findings from Premise, the customer integrated the new data into their systems and gained the insights needed to initiate improvements and work toward equitable vaccine access.
