Science Museum maps millions of data points into Wonderlab AR with Preloaded

The Science Museum sought to extend its mission beyond its physical walls and help a younger audience understand the science that shapes our daily lives. To achieve this, they partnered with Preloaded to create a location-based augmented reality experience using the Niantic Lightship platform.

Preloaded developed Wonderlab AR, an app that uses geospatial data and Niantic's ARDK to turn real-world locations into points of scientific discovery. The solution encourages outdoor exploration through a game-like experience where users find and visualize scientific phenomena in AR, successfully bringing the wonder of the museum's exhibits into the wider world. The project was recognized with a Webby Award in the Education & Reference category.
