Oxford University engages 15k young people in 4 weeks with Preloaded

Oxford University faced the challenge of engaging 16-18 year olds in the complex ethical debate surrounding data privacy and predictive technologies in mental health, a topic from which young people are often excluded. They partnered with PRELOADED to understand if a game could be both an engaging experience and a method for collecting meaningful research data from this target audience.

PRELOADED created "Tracing Tomorrow," a first-person narrative game that presents players with moral dilemmas about sharing mental health data. The solution included an anonymous gamified survey to collect research data and analytics. Within just four weeks of launch, the game was played by over 15,000 young people and achieved a 41% completion rate, effectively engaging the audience and successfully encouraging a conversation around mental health topics.
