Atmel North Tyneside, a global leader in microcontrollers, mixed‑signal and RF components, faced the challenge of managing huge volumes of data from complex manufacturing and test processes while driving continuous improvement and integrating analytics with its existing Manufacturing Execution System. To address this, Atmel selected Predisys and deployed the Predisys™ Manufacturing Analytical Suite to monitor manufacturing performance and provide a centralized analysis portal.

Predisys’ Manufacturing Analytical Suite (implemented in the UK by Ascari on a Microsoft/SharePoint platform) aggregates and summarizes production data into process capability and stability metrics, enabling engineers to analyze vast datasets in seconds and react to deviations before they impact customers. The Predisys solution delivered an intranet portal giving R&D and manufacturing instant access to production, test and assembly data, accelerating root‑cause analysis, shortening time‑to‑market and materially improving Atmel’s operational and manufacturing performance.
