How Insect Technology Group Got Global Control Over Spending

Insect Technology Group, a global biotechnology company that converts organic waste into sustainable protein, faced a fragmented, manual purchasing process—Google Sheets, emails and ad hoc Excel POs—across multiple locations and legal entities. That lack of transparency, inconsistent receiving and insufficient reporting by department, location and GL code forced them to look for a cloud-enabled procurement solution; they chose Precoro (implemented April 2019) to bring structure and oversight to purchasing.

Precoro delivered a cloud SaaS procurement system with configurable approval workflows and hands-on onboarding, centralizing requisitions, POs and approvals across sites. The result was clearer, rule-based approvals, improved auditability and reporting, reduced time spent on procurement, and a drop in maverick spending; Precoro now supports ITG’s global rollout (about 76 users and ~190 POs/month) and provides the management visibility and control the company needed.
