Bayat Power, South Asia’s largest private electric power producer managing the Bayat Power-1 gas-fired plant, faced slow, paper-based purchasing across remote sites that caused lost or duplicated documentation, lengthy approval cycles (often taking months), and lack of visibility into spend. Herbert Mulumba, Head of Procurement, selected the Precoro spend management platform to provide a digital multi-step approval workflow and real-time budget tracking to centralize purchasing across locations.

Precoro was onboarded in about three weeks and replaced manual requests with automated routing to department heads and the CFO/VP based on spend, creating a centralized data repository and real-time reports. As a result, Bayat Power (33 users, ~200 POs/month, using Precoro since Sep 2019) cut document processing from months to a few hours, eliminated unapproved purchases, reduced human error, and achieved stricter budget and cost control—delivering markedly improved procurement efficiency.
