Middlesex Hospital, a 215-bed hospital in Middletown, Connecticut, needed a better way to work with financial and operational data. After relying on manual DBMS extracts, Excel and Access workarounds, and custom reports that still left major gaps, the hospital turned to PrecisionBI and GE Healthcare’s Centricity Business Informatics to improve its reporting and analytics.

PrecisionBI implemented a solution that gave Middlesex Hospital interactive access to data, including crosstab tools and a flexible data model that could be expanded across multiple systems. The hospital moved from simply distributing reports to building analytical tools for end users, delivering faster answers to executives and other staff with only three dedicated FTEs, while continuing to expand into productivity, labor, and clinical data analysis.
